The EAL instructor will:
1.Deliver ESL instruction aligned with approved curriculum and adult learning principles
2.Develop program outlines, learning objectives, and instructional materials
3.Assess, monitor, and document student progress, attendance, and achievement
4.Provide ongoing feedback, academic support, and referrals as needed
5.Maintain an inclusive and effective virtual learning environment
6.Support employability-focused learning activities
7.Collaborate with College staff and community partners
8.Prepare and submit required reports and documentation accurately and on time
QUALIFICATIONS
English as a first language and/or a high-level knowledge of the English language; well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment; ability to promote and encourage diversity, individual dignity and mutual respect
Ability to facilitate groups with differing opinions, experience, and backgrounds
Demonstrated ability to analyze, conceptualize and synthesize needs and make recommendations
Organizational skills to identify needs and establish priorities among competing demands
Available to work evenings and weekends when required
CRC required
Knowledge of CLB levels & PBLA
Proof of receiving a minimum of 80% on the Access & Privacy Training Course for Saskatchewan Local Authorities
Education and Experience
A four-year University Degree. Preference will be given to candidates who hold TESL Canada or Saskatchewan Accreditation. However, candidates showing initiative to achieve these requirements may be considered.
A minimum of one year experience working with adult literacy or EAL programming
