Description

Reporting to the Director of Community Services the Planner II administers the Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw, overseeing a diverse range of residential, commercial and industrial projects

Key Responsibilities:
*Review and prepare responses to complex development proposals.
*Perform site visits and inspections.
*Respond to project inquiries and prepare correspondence to the general public, other City departments, governmental agencies, developers, and other stakeholders.
*Prepare and present reports, requests for proposals, policies and procedures, correspondence and briefs for Senior Management, City Council and related committees.
*Undertake research, special studies and special projects related to land use policies, business development, land development, provincial and municipal legislation, including data collection and analysis.
*Interact with the public through telephone, written enquiries and referrals.
*Manage upkeep of property files, inquiries and land use applications assigned.
*Plan, assign and supervise the work of junior professionals and other project staff.

Qualified applicants will possess:
*Degree in Regional and Urban Planning or a directly related field.
*Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Saskatchewan Professional Planners Institute.
*Class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers License and personal vehicle for work purposes.
*Strong familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Power Point.
