The Saskatchewan Firearms Office (SFO) is responsible for supporting safe communities by managing the ownership, purchase, movement and use of firearms within the province through the administration of federal firearms legislation and the Saskatchewan Firearms Act.
The Client Services Branch (CSB) oversees public engagement, Indigenous government partnerships, compensation initiatives, and key community outreach programs.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner, the Executive Director, Client Services provides executive leadership to the CSB. You will be responsible for providing strategic direction, managing complex stakeholder relationships, ensuring program effectiveness, and promoting operational excellence. This role is central to delivering fair compensation, supporting culturally responsive engagement, and promoting best practices for the safe handling, storage, and use of firearms in Saskatchewan.
What You Will Do
As a key member of the Ministrys leadership team, the Executive Director will have responsibility for:
- Providing leadership, strategic direction, fiscal management, and service standards within the branch.
- Providing oversight of daily Firearms Verification and Appraisal (FVA) Service operations, working closely with ITD to ensure technical infrastructure aligns with ministry needs, and ensuring reliability, security, and performance to support the ministry and its clients.
Supporting relationship-building with Indigenous and Mtis nations, including through the establishment of Memorandums of Understanding between the SFO and these partners.
- Acting as a representative of the SFO in matters relating to the FVA service and Client Services Branch, engaging with the ministry, the public, and external stakeholders.
