Description

The City of Melfort is seeking full-time student employees to fill a few positions working in both the Community Services department and Public Works department. These positions will be performing duties related to the operation and maintenance of city facilities, infrastructure and parks. The employment period could be up to 4 months annually, approximately May through August.

Qualifications:
    Ability to maintain assigned public facilities, infrastructure, and parks in a clean, healthy and safe manner.
    Ability to undertake the regular and special maintenance of all equipment needed to do the work.
    Ability to maintain an accurate work record of the equipment and duties performed.
    Ability to ensure facilities and equipment are maintained at a standard of care to ensure the safety of the employees and public.
    Ability to effectively communicate with members of the public, the leadership team, and other colleagues.
    Ability to adhere to City of Melfort Safety Program
    Willing to participate in training opportunities that the City of Melfort deems necessary to improve knowledge and job performance.
    Ability to understand and complete oral and written instructions with minimum supervision.
    Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
    Valid Class 5 drivers license with driving abstract
    Ability to pass a criminal background check and a vulnerable sector check.
    Experience in facility or park maintenance would be an asset but not a requirement
