We are looking for a Director, Data Science to lead our data science team. This senior leadership position requires expertise in advanced analytics, predictive modelling, data wrangling, people management and strategic planning. This role defines the direction for advanced analytics at SGI, supporting data-driven decisions and enhancing products and customer experiences.

The Director oversees the development of statistical models and machine learning algorithms to generate actionable insights from large datasets. In this role, you will use analytics, visualisation, and business acumen to create actionable solutions with measurable business value, promote a data-driven culture and ensure compliance with our Data Policy and Data Governance Framework.

The experience and skills for this position are gained from a four-year degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline. 10 years of experience, including 6 years in progressively responsible leadership roles in data science, with expertise in cloud-based D&A platforms, data management tools, reporting and visualisation, and advanced analytics (AI/ML) and 4 years of relevant experience in the insurance or financial sector, or an equivalent.
