The Community Enhancement Worker will work to enhance existing health programs within Zagime Anishinabek. They work alongside other front-line workers to provide connection and outreach services to families, youth and community members.
-Plan and coordinate events in the community alongside other health programs within Zagime Anishinabek.
-Coordinate and develop a life skills program for young adults.
-Provide outreach services to families, children and youth.
-Network with community programs and services.
-Coordinate land-based healing activities and provide land-based programming to community members.
-Provide support and aftercare services for clients with mental health and addictions.
-Coordinate workshops on variety of topics focusing on mental health, addictions, life skills, youth involvement, etc.
-Develop and provide consistent programming to the community by following a yearly work plan.
-Manage gaps in services by networking with a variety of service providers.
-Develop surveys and focus on evaluation of activities.
-Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-Grade 12 or equivalent.
-Post-secondary education in mental health or addictions.
-Two (2) years of work experience working in the mental health field.
-Health related Certificates
-Ability to work with a team, as well as independently with minimum supervision.
-Land based education knowledge would be an asset.
-Valid Drivers License and maintained throughout employment.
-Meet the insurability requirements of SGI to operate band owned vehicles.
