McArthur River, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the worlds largest high-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at McArthur River is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future.
-Operating, inspecting, and maintaining the main cage and skip conveyance
-Preparing equipment and materials to be moved to and from the underground using slings and rigging
-Operating various equipment, such as JCB loader and skid steer loader
-Working alongside a diverse workforce (Cameco employees, contractors, and trade personnel)
-Fulfil all duties as detailed in the mines regulations mine shaft 1 operator training requirements
Requirements of the position:
-minimum grade 12 education or equivalent;
-five years of applicable underground mining experience;
-must successfully pass the crane and rigging course;
-rotating day/night shift schedule;
-able to work at heights using fall arrest;
-willing to work in confined spaces;
-must be able to obtain the Saskatchewan certification for handling and transportation of explosives; and
-work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
