Description

The Rural Municipality of Weyburn No. 67 Public Works Department is currently seeking to fill two Summer Student positions to assist with general labour duties throughout the municipality.

As a member of the Public Works Crew, you will be responsible for providing support under the direct supervision of the Foreman. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

    General shop cleaning and yard maintenance
    Assisting with general maintenance tasks, including sign installation
    Working safely in and around municipal roadways and rights-of-way
    Operating a mower and weed trimmer in rights-of-way
    Picking rocks and debris
    Assisting with minor maintenance and equipment repairs
    Completing manual labour tasks as assigned
    Washing and maintaining municipal equipment and vehicles
    Assisting with road repairs, culvert installations, and other duties assigned by Council and the Foreman
Qualifications:
    Ability to perform physical labour in outdoor conditions
    Good communication and organizational skills
    Self-motivated with a willingness to follow directions
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    Ability to work with minimal supervision
    Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence required
    Previous experience is considered an asset, but is not required
    Successful applicants must be willing to receive training and certification on equipment as required
