The City of Prince Albert is hiring for the permanent full time role of Millwright (Plant Utilities Maintenance Person).
The Millwright is a key technical position responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of all mechanical equipment and rotating assets across the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and associated facilities.
Duties & Responsibilities
Mechanical Maintenance & Repair:
Carry out general repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment across all City water treatment facilities.
Inspect, install, dismantle, clean, service, repair, weld, and maintain equipment including pumps, valves, motors, chemical systems, and rotating machinery.
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance programs; identify defects and perform corrective actions.
Troubleshoot equipment failures, analyze root causes, and implement long-term solutions.
Perform precision alignment, leveling, shaft coupling adjustments, and vibration/diagnostic testing.
Participate in upgrade projects, retrofits, and commissioning of new equipment.
Operational & Technical Support:
Respond promptly to mechanical breakdowns and emergencies to minimize downtime.
Make recommendations to Plant Managers on improvements or changes to preventive maintenance programs.
Communicate updates to mechanical procedures and ensure operators understand relevant changes.
Collaborate with operations and maintenance staff during troubleshooting.
Documentation & Compliance:
Keep accurate and neat records of all maintenance work performed.
Requisition parts, supplies, and materials in accordance with City policies.
Always maintain clean and safe work areas.
Qualifications:
Grade 12.
Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate recognized by the Province of Sask
Valid Drivers License
