Description

This position serves as an Instructor, Evaluator, Course Developer, and Mentor for field trainers and operators, playing a key role in the development and delivery of fleet training and safety programs. Working closely with the Coordinator, Fleet Training & Safety, this position will contribute to the creation, implementation, and evaluation of training courses across various operational areas.



The incumbent will support training initiatives and cross-training efforts across other areas within the City of Regina. As such, may be assigned to work in any of the functional areas of the City of Regina. This role may also involve conducting investigations and assessments of fleet-related incidents. This position will play a key role in ensuring that all fleet operations comply with established safety standards and operational best practices, while promoting a culture of continuous learning, skill development, and ongoing safety improvement.


Key Qualifications


Grade Twelve supplemented with a Certificate in Adult Education and three to five years experience operating, maintaining, and inspecting complex municipal or construction equipment.
Demonstrated supervisory experience with responsibility for equipment operator training and competency assessment.
Proven experience in adult education including instructional design, manual and script development, and professional presentation delivery.
Ability to obtain and maintain provincial instructor certifications relevant to the position (e.g. propane dispensing, forklift, SGI programs).
Sound knowledge of adult learning principles, training methodologies, and evaluation techniques.
Thorough knowledge of safe operation, maintenance, and inspection practices for a municipal vehicle and equipment fleet.
Strong understanding of applicable municipal, provincial, and federal legislation, City policies, and occupational health and safety requirements.
