Description

Applications are being accepted for one Grader Operator position. This position is as per the Group 2 Classification and is a Temporary seasonal position. Expected end date is October 31,2026 or two (2) weeks prior notice.

Duties include: Operating a motor grader unit in support of the RMs road maintenance program and performing related Public Works duties as assigned. Work is normally performed during the summer maintenance season from May to the end of October.

Desired Qualifications and Knowledge Base:

Demonstrated knowledge of municipal road maintenance practices and procedures.
Proven ability to safely and proficiently operate a motor grader under varying road and weather conditions.
Demonstrated ability to produce consistent, high quality grading results, including maintaining proper crown, drainage, and surface finish.
Ability to perform routine maintenance and identify and address minor mechanical issues.
Experience with winter operations, including snow clearing with wing and v-plow attachments, is considered an asset.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards.
Demonstrated reliability and consistent work performance in previous assignments.  
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with coworkers and the public.
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Willingness to work variable hours, including extended hours during peak operational periods.
Experience completing production reports, service records, and related documentation.
Valid Class 5 Drivers License
