Description

McDougall Gauley LLP is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Technician to join our Regina office. Reporting to the Director of Accounting and Operations, this role supports the firms day-to-day accounting function in a fast-paced professional services environment.

Responsibilities:
Manage accounts receivable, including client account follow-up, collections, and accurate posting of incoming payments
Process accounts payable, including invoice review, coding, entry, and payment support
Prepare account and bank reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy
Record cash receipts and maintain accurate supporting documentation
Process trust transactions and support trust reconciliations in accordance with firm procedures
Post and reconcile disbursements and assist with month-end and reporting activities as needed
Provide additional accounting and administrative support to the firm as required

Qualifications:
2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or finance experience; experience in a law firm or other professional services environment is an asset
Degree, Diploma or Certificate in accounting, business, or a related field is preferred
Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general bookkeeping principles
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word
Experience with accounting or legal practice software is an asset
Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to handling financial information with discretion and professionalism
Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines
