Role Overview
A garage door installer is responsible for the precise installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial garage doors, including the door itself, opener system, and related components, by accurately measuring, assembling, and securing the door while ensuring proper functionality and customer satisfaction, often requiring physical labor to lift heavy objects and operate various hand and power tools at different job sites.
Key Responsibilities
Install, repair, and maintain residential and commercial garage doors.
Assemble door sections and all related hardware and assist with heavy lifting of doors and equipment.
Identify and diagnose issues with customers' garage doors and related systems.
Travel & Availability: Willingness for out-of-town travel for installation and service work. On call rotation schedule.
Requirements
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 75lbs and work at heights in varying weather conditions.
Travel & Availability: Willingness for out-of-town travel for installation and service work. On call rotation schedule.
Mechanical Aptitude: Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
Experience: 3 years of experience preferred
Licensing: Valid drivers license with a clean abstract.
Compliance: Ability to pass Drug and Alcohol (D&A) testing for site access or post-incident requirements.
Certification: Current safety certifications (e.g., Fall Protection, WHMIS) are preferred but not required.
