Description

Maurer Family Grains is seeking a dependable and safety-oriented Farm Machinery Operator to join our operation year-round. The successful candidate will play a key role in field operations, equipment maintenance, grain handling, and overall farm productivity.

The Farm Machinery Operator will perform duties that align with NOC 84120, including but not limited to:

- Operate and maintain modern farm machinery and equipment including tractors, air seeders, sprayers, combines, grain carts, and semi-trucks
- Perform seeding, spraying, fertilizing, harvesting, and grain hauling operations
- Monitor field conditions and equipment performance to ensure efficient operation
- Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, lubrication, and minor repairs on farm machinery and equipment
- Clean and maintain machinery, storage facilities, and work areas
- Load, unload, and transport grain, seed, fertilizer, and farm supplies
- Assist with grain handling, storage management, and inventory monitoring
- Follow farm safety procedures and biosecurity protocols
- Keep accurate operational and maintenance records
- Work extended hours during peak seasonal periods including seeding and harvest
- Assist with general farm duties as required

Skills and Qualifications

Preferred candidates will possess:
- Experience operating agricultural equipment
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor equipment repairs
- Knowledge of grain farming operations and crop production practices
- Valid Class 5 drivers licence (Class 1A considered an asset)
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
