Description

ISC is looking for a detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our team! You will be the go-to person for payroll, benefits, and entitlement-related inquiries across ISC and its subsidiaries. You will ensure accurate payroll processing, support employee benefits administration through Workday, and handle complex time and attendance validations.

In this role, you will interpret policies, collective agreements, and employment legislation to resolve a range of employee pay and benefits questions  always with integrity, confidentiality, and attention to timelines. You will also contribute to disability and attendance cases and play a key role in managing sensitive employee data.

This position also supports the administration of pension and benefit plans for ISC and its subsidiaries. Other highlights of the position include:
- Process biweekly and monthly payroll and benefits accurately and on time, including ad-hoc payments such as severance, final pay, RRSP transfers, and retroactive adjustments.
- Ensure payroll data integrity through timely pre- and post-payroll audits to confirm completeness, accuracy, and compliance with corporate policies and legislation.
- Administer pension and benefit plans by ensuring accurate configuration in Workday, managing remittances, and maintaining up-to-date records in third-party systems

What you will need:
- This position requires a certification with the National Payroll Institute or a Human Resources diploma/certificate or equivalent experience in Payroll administration.
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years of practical experience in payroll and benefits administration.
- Knowledge of provincial and federal payroll legislation, Employment Standards, and the ability to effectively interpret a collective agreement and operate in a unionized environment.
