The Mental Health Therapist will work under the supervision of the Mental Health Coordinator. The Mental Health Therapist will be responsible for providing confidential mental health therapy services to Battleford Agency Tribal Chiefs and its members to facilitate and improve their mental and emotional well-being.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assessment, treatment, crisis intervention and counselling services
Individual, group and family counselling
Provide referrals and advocate on behalf of clients
Develop and implement training programs/workshops for clients and staff if required
Prepare and maintain confidential records, reports and files
Guide clients with skills and strategies to build self-esteem and confidence
Improve the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical wellbeing of communities and members, while strengthening the traditional health care system
Aims to improve the health of First Nations by incorporating First Nations healing and wellness
Knowledge of traditional human development and family dynamics
Cultural awareness and sensitivity of the Cree culture.
