Description

Muscowpetung Saulteaux Nation is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and community-minded Housing Assistant. This role provides vital administrative and operational support to the Housing Department. The successful candidate will manage housing files, track maintenance requests, assist with tenant communication, and ensure that our housing database is accurate and up to date. This position requires a professional who can handle sensitive information with discretion and provide excellent customer service to our Nation members.

Key Responsibilities
-Administrative Support: Maintain accurate, confidential, and organized tenant files, rental agreements, and housing databases.
-Intake & Requests: Receive, log, and track community maintenance and repair requests, routing them to the appropriate Housing staff.
-Tenant Relations: Act as the first point of contact for housing inquires, assisting members with housing applications, rental payment tracking, and policy information.
-Data Management: Input data regarding CMHC (Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation) projects, renovations, and inspections into the tracking system.
-Reporting: Assist the Housing Manager in preparing monthly reports for Chief and Council, as well as funding compliance reports.

Qualifications
-Education: Grade 12 diploma required; a diploma or certificate in Office Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is a strong asset.
-Experience: 1-2 years of administrative experience, preferably within a First Nations housing, property management, or band administration setting.

Mandatory Requirements
-Clearances: A current, clean Criminal Record Check must be provide prior to employment.
-Confidentiality: Must sign and strictly adhere to a mandatory Oath or Confidentiality regarding all members and tenant information.
-Reliability: Consistent attendance and punctuality are required to ensure the office remains accessible to the community.
