In this role you will demonstrate the ability to manage complex projects, provide technical and administrative expertise to assess and regulate development activities impacting water quality and habitats across waterways. With well-developed communication and relationship-building skills, the incumbent will deliver education and guidance to stakeholders ensuring awareness and compliance with program requirements and legislation.
The position requires sound judgment and decision-making to review permit applications, design practical mitigation solutions, and work closely with partners to protect aquatic habitats while meeting regulatory requirements. The role also requires strong investigative and problem-solving skills through preparation of technical recommendations for compliance and enforcement actions, participation in field inspections and site assessments.
The successful candidate will have a degree in Science with specialization in environmental science or ecology, a Diploma in a similar field of study or an equivalent combination of related experience and education with three (3) years of related experience.
