Description

Meewasin is a purpose-driven team dedicated to conserving the cultural and natural resources of the South Saskatchewan River Valley for the benefit of present and future generations. We are committed to delivering strategic priorities for maintaining a healthy & vibrant river valley, growing a sense of community, and protecting the legacy of the region that follows an amazing 100-year plan. All Meewasins successes could not be achieved without our hardworking, adaptable, and dedicated team.

Meewasin is the steward of the beautiful Meewasin Valley which is on Treaty Six Territory and the traditional homeland of the Mtis people. We acknowledge this as part of our organizations efforts towards reconciliation and honor the vast knowledge held by traditional Indigenous caretakers of the land as we work alongside them today.

Reporting to the Director of Conservation, the Senior Conservation Coordinator  Field Operations provides operational leadership, coordination, and system oversight for field-based Resource Conservation activities across the Meewasin Valley jurisdiction.
This position is responsible for translating strategic program objectives, Site Resource Management Plans, and valley-wide conservation strategies into effective field operations. The role governs operational workflows, disturbance-based management implementation, equipment systems, deployment logistics, and
field safety alignment. The incumbent functions as the primary operational authority for field delivery systems, ensuring conservation actions are implemented safely, efficiently, and consistently. The role works closely with the Senior Coordinator  Ecological Monitoring & Assessment, Resource Management Technicians, and GIS & Data Management personnel to ensure alignment between
ecological objectives and operational realities. This is a field-intensive leadership position requiring sustained outdoor operational involvement.
