Description

Chief Payepot School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Pre-Kindergarten Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time position is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic school team and contribute to the academic and personal growth of First Nations youth in a culturally grounded environment.

Youll be joining a staff committed to educational excellence, cultural inclusion, and student success. The ideal candidate is highly organized, engaging, and able to create a classroom environment that inspires learning and confidence in students.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
    Plan and deliver highquality, playbased and developmentally appropriate programming for PreK learners, including language, literacy, numeracy, socialemotional, physical, and cultural development.
    Integrate Cree language, culture, and traditions into daily activities, routines, and classroom environments.
    Promote a positive classroom climate focused on safety, respect, inclusion, and holistic child development.
    Use fair, restorative, and traumainformed approaches to support behaviour and wellbeing.
    Assess and document child development and learning, maintain accurate records, and communicate progress with families and caregivers.
    Collaborate with colleagues, school leadership, Elders, early years specialists, and community partners to support programming and transitions to Kindergarten.
    Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school events.
    Contribute to classroom and school routines, safety procedures, and policy implementation as required.
