Description

Position Summary:
Chief Payepot School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Grade 12 Teacher to join our instructional team. The successful candidate will deliver developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive instruction for early primary learners, support students social and emotional growth, and collaborate with staff, families, and community Elders to create a respectful, culturally enriched learning environment reflective of Payepot Cree Nation values.

Key Responsibilities:
    Plan and deliver highquality, culturally responsive instruction for Grade 1 and Grade 2 students in literacy, numeracy, and other curriculum areas.
    Integrate Cree language, culture, and traditions into daily lessons, classroom routines, and school activities.
    Promote a positive classroom climate focused on student success, respect, inclusion, and holistic development.
    Use fair, restorative approaches to address student behaviour and support wellbeing.
    Assess student learning regularly, maintain accurate records, and communicate student progress to families and caregivers.
    Collaborate with colleagues, school leadership, Elders, and community partners on programming and student supports.
    Participate in professional development, teacher supervision, staff meetings, and school events.
    Contribute to school safety, routines, and policy implementation as required.
