Reporting to the Production Manager and Technical Director, this is a key member of our production team. This is a full time, seasonal position, requires daytime, evening, and weekend shifts
Responsibilities
Set up, programming and operation of digital and analog audio consoles
Work with designers, directors and clients, to realize a production or events audio requirements
Mix live audio, including vocals and musical instruments
Set up sound reinforcement, including microphones, cable and monitors, for rehearsals and performances for various events
Operate sound/video equipment, playback
Write cues and record events as necessary
Set up and breaking down all sound equipment
Maintain audio equipment in good repair
Maintain clean and safe work area
Assist others, working on various other aspects of the Theatres productions, and related facility maintenance, as requested
Abide by safe workplace guidelines and rules, including the Code of Conduct and Anti-Discrimination policies
Carry out other tasks requested
Qualifications:
Working understanding of all technical aspects of theatre and live events
Experience with Digico Audio Consoles
Proficient in the use of Qlab
Sound design skills are an asset
Good communication skills
Ability to work well under pressure/deadlines
Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills
Able to work well both independently and collaboratively
Assets:
Fall Arrest and Aerial Lift training
Understanding of and experience with video and projection
Knowledge of basic rigging for theatre
Knowledge of operation of counterweight fly system
First Aid training
Valid Class 5 driving license
Must be a team player, have a love of theatre and performing arts
As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to become a member of and maintain good standing in IATSE local #300
