Description

Position Summary:
Chief Payepot School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Grade 89 (Middle Years) Teacher to join our instructional team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate, and culturally responsive instruction for middle years learners, support students academic and socialemotional development, and collaborate with staff, families, and Elders to create a respectful, culturally enriched learning environment that reflects the values and traditions of Payepot Cree Nation.

Key Responsibilities:
    Plan and deliver highquality, culturally responsive instruction for Grade 8 and Grade 9 across assigned subject areas (e.g., language arts, mathematics, science, social studies).  
    Integrate Cree language, culture, and traditions into curriculum, classroom practice, and school activities.  
    Promote a positive classroom and school climate focused on student engagement, respect, inclusion, and holistic development.  
    Use fair, restorative, and traumainformed approaches to address student behaviour and support wellbeing.  
    Assess student learning regularly, maintain accurate records, and communicate progress with students, families, and caregivers.  
    Collaborate with colleagues, school leadership, Elders, and community partners on programming, transitions, and student supports.  
    Participate in professional development, teacher supervision, staff meetings, and school events.  
    Contribute to school safety, routines, scheduling, and policy implementation as required.
