This position is offered through the support of the Government of Canada-Canada Summer Jobs Program. All applicants must meet the minimum requirements of that program (see below).
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
* Must be between 16 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
* Was registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year;
* Intends to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year;
* Is a student in post-secondary, vocational, or technical program;
* is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act* and;
* Is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
The Office Assistant Summer/Co-op Student provides key administrative support and ensuring smooth operations. This role includes preparing policy documents and coordinating logistics for initiatives and events. This position offers a great opportunity to develop skills in a collaborative, professional environment.
Qualifications
Education and Professional Certification
* Pursuing a post-secondary education in Arts, Humanities, Journalism, Business, Communications, Public Policy, or a related field.
Experience
* Familiarity with working in an office or professional work environment, or related experience.
* Experience using computers and standard office software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Skills and Characteristics
* Ability to complete tasks independently and in a team environment.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to form professional working alliances.
* Strong written and oral communication skills.
