Job Description: The Nurse Clinician works closely with, and under the direction of the Medical Health Officers, the Primary Health Care Manager, and program supervisor and is responsible for the coordination of unit activities of Communicable Disease and Sexual Health Clinic. The Nurse Clinician is an expert clinical nurse in the specialty of Communicable Disease and Sexual Health. In collaboration with Primary Health Care Managers, supervisors/leads/specialists, the Nurse Clinician provides direct client service and is responsible for providing clinical supervision of staff, orientation, certification, continuing education, keeping the Public Health orientation program updated, developing clinical pathways for practice in Communicable Disease, Sexual Health, Immunization and participating in development of policies and procedures relating to Public Health, Primary Health, Immunization, Communicable Disease, and Sexual Health. The incumbent will participate in program planning and evaluation. This role requires expert knowledge in the Saskatchewan Communicable Disease Manual, Saskatchewan Immunization Manual, Saskatchewan Public Health Act, Disease Control Regulations, and local Sexual Health Clinic Public Health Nursing Manual and ensuring services follow the same.
