As a non-profit organization that is responsive to both industry and community needs, the Saskatoon Trades and Skills Centre (STSC) delivers short-term trades and skills employment training to youth and adults, leading to entry-level jobs where workers are in high demand.
ROLE:
The STSC Job Coach is responsible for the coordination, implementation and facilitation of STSC training courses in alignment with the organizations strategic plan to ensure successful delivery and positive outcomes for all stakeholders in our community.
DUTIES:
- Deliver and facilitate relevant STSC courses
- Participate in program development as required
- Promote STSC training programs to appropriate industry partners
- Plan, track, and report on outputs and outcomes
- Participant coaching including job search support
- Maintain database, electronic records and other administrative duties
- Maintain inventory control and relevant equipment upkeep
- Apply change, risk and resource management principles when needed
- Liaise with STSC industry employers for employment placements
- Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager and/or Executive Director
REQUIREMENTS:
- Good knowledge and handling of project management methodology and techniques
- Experience in providing employment support services to a diverse client group including marginalized individuals
- Strong understanding of classroom instruction methods and the ability to deliver material in an engaging manner
- Ability to work individually and collaboratively
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Valid drivers license
- Journey Person/Vocational Certificate or Post-secondary in a related field an asset
- Clean vulnerable sector criminal record check
