Description

SARM is seeking a highly motivated person for the permanent position of Municipal Bridge Project Manager, to start as soon as possible.   Under the direction of the Director of Municipal Bridge Services, the Municipal Bridge Project Managers main responsibilities include administration of the Municipal Roads for the Economy Program (MREP) Bridge Program and to assist with other related programs.  This involves working on a wide range of bridge, culvert, and low-level crossing projects on the municipal road system.

Responsibilities:  Participation in the administration of the MREP Bridge Program and other SARM infrastructure programs.  Project Management including design, creation of engineered drawings, material procurement, tendering, financial management and contract administration.  Drainage structure inspections, condition assessments and recommending repair/replacement procedures.  Maintain knowledge of industry standards/best practices and to advise SARM and its members.

Skills and Knowledge:  Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.  Strong organization and communication skills.   Ability to work effectively within tight timeframes with minimal supervision and as a team.  Ability to motivate others and demonstrate leadership when necessary.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and photo editing software.  Have a valid drivers license and be willing to travel occasionally throughout the province and work in a field environment.

The successful candidate will have completed a post-secondary degree in civil engineering and be eligible for registration as a professional engineer or engineer-in-training with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS).   Familiarity with structural engineering and construction fundamentals as well as knowledge of the municipal sector are definite assets.
