The Municipal Capacity Development Program (MCDP) is seeking an organized, energetic, and motivated Project Facilitator to lead inter-municipal groups. MCDP is a partnership between SARM, SUMA, and the Ministry of Government Relations, and is dedicated to helping Saskatchewan municipalities build their capacity through regional cooperation.
Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Project Facilitator is responsible to:
- provide facilitation and research assistance to inter-municipal working groups;
- present materials on inter-municipal cooperation and various municipal topics;
- support the development of regional sustainability plans, project plans, and various other documents;
- assist the program manager with the development of communication materials for promotion and education;
- maintain content on the MCDP website.
Required qualifications:
- a theoretical and practical understanding of strategic planning principles, methods and procedures;
- strong analytical and problem solving skills;
- excellent writing, presentation and facilitation skills;
- an awareness of current sustainable planning issues in Saskatchewan communities.
Asset qualifications:
- knowledge of local government policies, priorities and processes
- background in community planning, economic development or related fields
The successful candidate must hold a valid drivers license, submit a criminal record check and be willing to do some travel.
Individuals with a relevant degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience will be given preference.
MCDP offers a competitive benefits package and 4 weeks holidays. Salary will be determined upon qualifications and experience of candidate.
