Project: Living Wage Campaign

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:  The student researcher will be working closely with university and community partners involved in a project to research and implement a Living Wage campaign on the University of Regina campus. The researchers primary responsibility will be to conduct a literature review regarding living wage campaigns on other Canadian campuses, as well as conducting campus wage mapping through semi-structured interviews and electronic surveys. This work will form the basis of a living wage campaign to be initiated at the University of Regina in Fall 2015.

Qualifications: Open to qualified University of Regina undergraduate or graduate students. Required skills include: strong research and written communication skills, the ability to work independently, good interpersonal skills and basic computer skills. Qualitative research skills, especially interviewing and survey design, are preferred. Interest in income equality issues, and the concept of a Living Wage is an asset.

Schedule:  Approximately 30 hours a month (or a total of 150 hours) during the period of December 2014  April 2015. The position will start in mid-December, with a flexible start date.
