Description

Canpotex, the world's premier potash exporter, is an offshore marketing and logistics company owned by Saskatchewan potash producers: Agrium, Mosaic and PotashCorp. We are currently seeking a Manager, Safety, Health & Environment to oversee our Corporate safety program as well as our operators programs at Canpotex sites in Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Oregon. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Operations, this position is responsible for the development and implementation of a strategic direction for safety, health and environment for all Canpotex facilities. Based in our Corporate Head Office in Saskatoon, with the ability to travel and work at various site locations, the Manager, Safety, Health & Environment is responsible for the following:

Conduct audits and assessments of all Canpotex facilities to ensure compliance with legislation, policies and procedures related to safety, health and environment
Conduct or oversee investigations in the event of accidents or incidents
Develop recommendations for remediation as required
Participate in crisis management planning to ensure facilities are prepared for emergency situations
Oversee environmental testing and coordinate and attend public hearings and consultations on environmental matters

The person we are looking for has:
University degree in a related discipline coupled with several years of experience in a similar role
CRSP or CHSC designation would be considered an asset
Experience creating a corporate strategy for safety, health and environment
Thorough knowledge of safety, health and environment legislation in Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Oregon
The ability to travel to our various site locations on a regular basis, as well as other travel as required, at times with minimal notice.
