Description

BASIC PURPOSE:  
    To carry out planning, equipment sourcing, design, and management for projects involving the installation of manufacturing equipment or facilities.  As well as implementation of process improvements that increase production efficiencies, in accordance with the short-term needs and long term goals of Bourgault Industries.  

DUTIES:
    Development and documentation of standard work, including work methods, cell layouts and value stream layouts.
    Conduct process analysis involving observation of and interaction with the production team on the shop floor.
    Design equipment, tooling, or processes to improve safety, quality, productivity or cost issues for the value streams.
    Implementation of lean manufacturing principals on the shop floor & in the office.
    Review Warehouse space allocations, layout planning and process efficiencies.
    Gauge performance of value streams, identify bottlenecks and suggest/implement changes as required.
    Review & coordinate engineering changes.
    Implement changes to products due to manufacturing improvements.
    Development of TPM schedules on key pieces of production equipment.
    Conduct time studies to develop base times or evaluate different processes.


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
    Engineering degree or technical diploma in manufacturing engineering or related field.
    Strong industrial/manufacturing engineering background.
    Extensive knowledge & application of lean manufacturing principals.
    3D CAD experience (Solidworks preferred).
    Strong computer skills.
    Well-developed interpersonal skills and communication skills.
    Attention to detail.
    Strong trouble-shooting and problem solving skills.
    High degree of analytical thought and creativity.
