Description

The Clinical Informatics Specialist provides clinical subject matter expertise at all stages of the system life cycle as a key member of the program. Equally present in the public and private sectors, the Clinical Informatics Specialist serves as a liaison between the clinical areas and IT, and accurately and promptly analyzes, prioritizes and translates user needs and requests to clinical information systems. The Specialist facilitates communication amongst large groups of interdisciplinary end users while working collaboratively and directly with the technical experts and/or vendors.

A main function in this role will be facilitating communication from the clinical end users across the eHealth Programs while working collaboratively and directly with stakeholders, Program Managers, Leads and projects. The Clinical Informatics Specialists works to optimize the clinical design to meet the needs of a large group of interdisciplinary end users, including physicians, nurses, allied health, ancillary, clinical and administrative staff. The Clinical Informatics Specialist functions as a liaison for Clinical Informatics Systems as requested, establishing teamwork through appropriate deployment of process, technical and human resources in collaboration with the Director of eHealth Programs and the assigned Program areas.

You will have:
    a registered and licensed clinician who is in good standing with their college, with experience in health informatics;
    experience implementing electronic documentation in a hospital, primary health care and/or provincial setting preferred;
    experience with technical and clinical components of clinical information systems;
    demonstrated knowledge of redesigning clinical processes to improve efficiency and patient care, preferably in conjunction with the implementation of a clinical information system;
