The Aboriginal Friendship Centres of Saskatchewan (AFCS) is looking for a part-time bookkeeper
Skills/Qualifications
1. We require someone who has formal training and experience with bookkeeping to join our team.
2. Experience using Sage Accpac and/or Simply Accounting
2. Experience using software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, etc., to produce correspondence, maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets and databases and to maintain and update websites.
3. Capable of developing standards, analyze information, deal with complexity, report research results, attention to detail.
4. Confidentiality and thoroughness is very important.
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Develop system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts;
2. Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
3. Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
4. Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
5. Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
6. Maintains historical records by filing documents.
7. Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
8. Complies with federal, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
9. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
10. Defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
13. Other duties as assigned by the AFCS

15. Willingness to work occasional flexible hours including evenings and weekends
