Description

The City of Weyburn is a dynamic and progressive municipality located in the heart of Southeast Saskatchewan. The City of Weyburn is currently accepting applications for a temporary full time Finance Officer Payroll position. This temporary full time position is an integral component of our Finance Team. The main responsibilities include:
-accurate and timely end-to-end processing and auditing of bi-weekly payroll transactions;
- provide reports and collect information related to all payroll information;
- respond to payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies;
- monitor and assist in assuring proper interpretation of application of Collective Agreements (3 Unions and out of scope employees) and applicable Legislation;
- be involved in researching, analyzing and resolving payroll related solutions;
- provide timely correction of errors;
- assist with maintaining employee human resources and payroll records;
- serves as a City representative by excelling at and delivering the highest of levels of customer service;
- assist, understand and help perform duties required within the City's Finance Department.
The successful candidate:
-will have completed Grade XII or equivalent
- be certified with the Canadian Payroll Association
- will have a 2 year post-secondary education with a diploma in Business Administration with a major in an accountancy field
- will possess excellent computer skills and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preference will be given to those candidates who have:
-Payroll processing experience
- Local Government Administration Certification (LGA) and/or municipal experience.
