The City of Melville invites applications from qualified persons for the position of City Treasurer. Under the direction of the City Manager, the City Treasurer will be responsible for all accounting functions including, financial statements, budget preparation, tax/assessment roll preparation, school liability statements and other duties in accordance with the City Administration Bylaw. Qualifications:
A recognized diploma or degree in Public Accounting or equivalent accounting experience within a Public Administration or Management field; professional designation (CA, CGA, CMA) an asset
- 3-5 years municipal experience desired
- Formal training in Local Government Administration, an asset
- Familiarization with computerized municipal accounting systems (VADIM preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be bondable
- Must provide a criminal record check.
- Valid drivers license
Salary will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
