Nights (224 Hours in a 6 week period) 22:45Pm to 7:15Am
The Nurse's role is to deliver nursing care in keeping with the Code of Ethics and Standards of the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA) or Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS), Provincial Long Term Care Standards and Extendicare Canada Inc.

The RN / RPN will function in a leadership role by providing clinical leadership, coordination and communication of all activities of the health care team. She/he will be accountable for professional and competent care to residents by directing, supervising and empowering other members of the interdisciplinary team and by acting as a champion and role model for excellence in nursing outcomes, resident focused care delivery and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities will include:
Ensure resident care is provided within established nursing standards and principles, physicians' orders and administrative policies.
Use the Nursing Process of Assess, Plan, Implement and evaluate a resident health, and develop individualized resident care plans.
Oversee interdisciplinary Team Conferences, and address family concerns.
Plan, direct, supervise and evaluate the work of LPN and Care Aide staff.
Assist in orientating, mentoring and competency development of staff.

Education:
Licensure with the SRNA or RPNAS.

Experience:
Previous Long Term Care experience an asset
Previous experience with MDS 2.0 an asset
Comprehensive knowledge in the areas of wound management, infection control, dementia care, least restraint, and zero lift practices
Demonstrates charge and leadership skills including excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Strong organizing, planning, prioritizing, time management and multi-tasking skills.
