Description

The Department of Political Studies at the University of Saskatchewan invites applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment to teach in the area of Indigenous Peoples and Global Politics, starting July 1, 2016. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor.  Applicants will have a Ph.D. in Political Science and must have a proven commitment to research intensiveness and strong teaching.

We are seeking a collaborative-minded scholar who is building a reputation for excellence in the area of Indigenous Peoples and Global Politics and who can contribute to the broad thematic area of Governance in a Global Era. This individual will help to expand and invigorate the Departments and Colleges research concentration in political areas of Indigenous studies and international studies.

We offer undergraduate degree programs in Political Studies, International Studies, and Aboriginal Public Administration, and are centrally involved in various interdisciplinary programs across campus. We have a MA program in Political Studies. Our faculty members are also involved as graduate thesis supervisors and thesis committee members in Interdisciplinary Studies.

Candidates must have a completed doctoral degree in Political Science and a record of demonstrated excellence in teaching, research and peer-reviewed publications. Candidates will also have demonstrated a strong ability and potential to obtain significant Tri-Council success and publications, which will strongly contribute to the Departments and Colleges research profile in the area of Indigenous Peoples and Global Politics.
