REQUIREMENTS:
1) Between the ages of 15 and 30 at the start of employment
2)Registered as a full time student during the preceding academic year
3) Intends to return to school on a full time basis during the next academic year
4) Is a student in a secondary, post-secondary, vocational or technical program
5) Is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
QUALIFICATIONS:
1) High school diploma is a minimum requirement
2) Minimal work experience in an office environment
3) Experience using programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, Access, etc. to produce correspondence, presentations, records, spreadsheets/databases and to maintain/update websites
Working under the supervision of the Executive Director, the duties of the Executive Assistant will include the following:
Attend meetings, take minutes and keep notes
Schedule executive meetings and travel plans
Update Executive Director about appointments via email & calendar of events
Assist the Executive Director in meetings, preparing documents and presentations such as preparation of agendas
Make arrangements for committee, board, and other meetings
Attend phone calls, respond to office emails, take messages and record all communication in logbook
Conduct research, compile data, and prepare papers for consideration and presentation by executives, committees, and the board of directors
Open, sort, and distribute incoming correspondence including faxes and email.
Perform general office duties such as ordering supplies, maintaining records management systems, and performing basic bookkeeping work
Other duties as assigned by the AFCS
