VOTO's global SaaS platform for mobile engagement enables thousands of organizations to share information and gather feedback from the citizens they serve in the most challenging environments. Usage of the platform grew by over 10X in the past year, while we've added new countries, new channels, and new features. In 2017, we are building an ambitious "v3.0" of the platform to add two major new capabilities while maintaining reliability, usability, and scalability. Reporting to the Director of Engineering and working closely with the design team, you will be a key part of creating the user experience for the next-generation platform, and figuring out how to build major new feature areas. You will also play an important role in re-architecting the Javascript core of the front-end based on modern Javascript frameworks.
Responsibilities
* Convert functional descriptions into joy-inducing user interfaces and front-end code, making use of JS/ES, CSS, HTML5, and modern Javascript frameworks
* Lead the implementation of the user experience, navigation, and look-and-feel of VOTO's next-generation platform
* Work closely with the design team to understand users and user needs, and develop understandable intuitive mental models
* Improve the architecture and JS frameworks used in VOTO's "Trees" browser-based drag-and-drop mobile engagement designer. Refactor based on modern JS frameworks and decoupled reusable components.
* Help develop a style guide and ensure all user interfaces follow the new style conventions and multilingual localization
* Contribute to team processes and learning so that the engineering team meets its goal every sprint of becoming a smarter, more productive, healthier team
