The Town of Kindersley owns & operates the West Central Events Centre (WCEC) facility, which is comprised of 2 ice skating arenas - the Co-op Arena & Events Centre Arena - in addition to a 6-sheet curling rink, indoor walking track, meeting spaces & activity rooms. The WCEC is home to Kindersley Minor Sports, Kindersley Sledge Hockey, Iron Horse Kindersley Klippers, Kindersley Red Lions, & many more local sports & recreation groups. Ice rentals are available from Aug. to April & other programs operate year-round. The WCEC is a beautiful facility that regularly hosts concerts, cabarets, trade shows, rodeos, conferences & large tournaments. WCEC is the first in the province to accommodate & facilitate a fully accessible arena for sledge hockey.
The Community Services Department is the team that ensures that friends & family of local & visiting sports enthusiasts have an excellent experience from the moment they step into our recreation facilities until the second that they have to leave. We are looking for new members to join this team.
As a Community Services Labourer, you will ensure the WCEC & other recreation facilities are safe & clean, & you will engage in making small repairs to minor deficiencies as they arise from regular wear & tear. Your enthusiasm & excellent customer service skills will ensure customers are always smiling. Plus, you'll get to drive the Zamboni!

Requirements
Grade 12 or GED
Valid SK Class 5 DL
First Aid, CPR, WHMIS preferred
Ability to comprehend & carry out instructions
Strong physical capability
Team player
Strong communication skills
Knowledge of building maintenance
Duties:
Ice surface & refrigeration plant maintenance; drive Zamboni, repairs, ice making, edging, changing glass, board repairs, recordkeeping
Special event setups & teardowns
Specific Maintenance Activities
- Remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse
- Perform routine maintenance jobs and repairs
- Empty waste containers
- Clean and disinfect washrooms and fixtures
- Sweep, mop, scrub and wax floors
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on heating, cooling and ventilation systems
- Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies
- Paint
Transportation/Travel Information
- Valid driver's licence
