This position reports to the YTCCFS Director of Programs and Services. Will provide supervisory duties to a team of Cultural Integrated Service Workers and is responsible for ensuring: the delivery of child protection and prevention services to First Nation children living on one of our First Nation communities.
Qualifications:
Must possess a Bachelor of Indian Social Work/Bachelor of Social Work within child & family services OR a four year University undergraduate degree in a related discipline and at least 2 years experience in a social services organization.
Knowledge of Cree, Saulteaux & Nakota culture & language as well as the political & social objectives of the member First Nations.
Knowledge & commitment to the FSIN Child Welfare & Family Support Act, the Child & Family Services Act of Saskatchewan, INAC Child & Family Services Program Directive 20-1, & the INAC Sask. Region Child in Care Policy.
Ability to utilize computer hardware & software programs.
Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
Proven ability to apply a case management model in collaboration with Family Service Workers & others to establish goals & objectives of the clients and organization.
Demonstrated ability to foster a healthy & positive work environment based on encouragement and respect.
Ability to develop & establish mutually trusting & strong working relationships with Staff, clients, First Nation communities, interest groups & related agencies.
Able to work some evenings & weekends.
