Description

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager of Human Resources will lead, develop, and execute human resource strategies for SARCAN Recycling.
This senior level position,
-Acts as the face of HR for the organization.
-Leads and provides hands-on assistance to Directors, Middle Management and Supervisors on a variety of HR issues including: compliance requirements, employee and labor relations, administration of compensation and benefits, staffing, performance management, termination of employment, rewards and recognition,leaves of absence and other HR related topics.
-Lead strategic human resource initiatives related to recruitment, onboarding, employment branding and retention initiatives, etc.
-Develops and delivers training on relevant labour relations and HR topics.
-Directly supervises Manager of Payroll and benefits- providing back-up in their absence.
-Manage benefit administration of various plans through effective administration, renewals, market information, and communication to employees.
-Responsible for overseeing Member satisfaction related to our pension, benefits and EAP program.  Addresses problems or concerns as they occur.  
-In collaboration with the Communications team, ensure employee communication and messaging is effective and consistent.
-Lead and facilitate the development and maintenance of compensation structures and annual compensation reviews.
-Establish key metrics to assess the overall effectiveness of HR programs.

Travel throughout the province is expected.
Must possess a valid class 5 drivers license and have a reliable vehicle.
Must provide a satisfactory criminal record check as a condition of employment.  

Post-secondary degree in HR is required Experience in human/social sciences is an asset.  
CPHR designation is also an asset.
