Description

Seeking a full-time permanent caregiver for a one-year old child. Care is to be provided in our home, and caregiver is to assume full responsibility of the household in the absence of the parents. Home is a strictly non-smoking environment, with an indoor dog present. Duties will include maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home, leading educational play time, reading stories, preparing and serving nutritious meals, changing diapers, bathing and dressing the child, and preparing the child for sleep. The caregiver will also be responsible for instructing the child in personal hygiene and social development, as well as tending to the well-being of the child. Some light housekeeping may also be required. Position is currently based in Saskatoon, but family will be relocating to a rural location 1 hour north of Saskatoon within the next 6-8 months and position will then be based from that rural location.

The successful candidate must be reliable and organized, with strong initiative and good judgement. Excellent oral communication skills are required, as well as the ability to keep records of daily activities and health information regarding the child. Physical activity will be required, and handling weight up to 23kg (50 lbs).

-Must be fluent in English, and have completed high school (grade 12 or equivalent) or higher.
-Valid drivers license is required.
-Minimum 5 years of child care experience is preferred.
-Emergency child care first aid and CPR, CPR Certificate and First Aid Certificate are all preferred.
-Flexibility in hours will be required, as working hours may vary. Some travel may also be required.

References are required. Child welfare check, driving record check (abstract), driver's licence check, criminal record check, child abuse registry check, and vulnerable sector check may all be required.
