Summary:
The Communication Technician is responsible for performing installation and servicing of telecommunications equipment, tower climbing, servicing, and construction at heights of up to 500 feet, antenna installations and alignment, radio and networking equipment installation, configuration, and troubleshooting, installation and configuration of telecommunication hardware, and fiber termination and splicing.
Responsibilities:
Performing the installation and servicing of telecommunications equipment
Tower climbing, servicing, and construction at heights of up to 500 feet
Antenna installations and alignment
Configuration of telecommunication hardware
Fiber termination and splicing
Apply analytical skills to resolve problems and deliver viable solutions
Requirements:
*1-3 Experience working on communication towers
*Experience in Telecommunications industry
*Post-secondary education in a technology related program
*Construction experience
*Able and willing to work out of town
*Able and willing to work at heights of up to 500 feet
Physical Demands:
-Ability to safely climb to heights up to 500 feet
-Ability to work at heights for extended periods of time in all types of weather
-Ability to safely and properly operate motor vehicles up to tonne pickup
*Able and willing to work at heights *Valid Drivers License with a clean Drivers Abstract *Clean Criminal Background *The ability to pass a Drug, Alcohol and Fitness Test
