The SAS is seeking a post-secondary graduate to assist us with updating and revising our educational resources so they not only to better meet the needs of today's society, but as an act of Reconciliation. Because our resources contain the cultural heritage of First Nations people, it is essential that they reflect and represent First Nation experiences and perspectives in a meaningful and respectful way. The Educational Resources Intern will work closely with the Executive Director and our partners to update existing and create new artifact-based teaching kits. A comprehensive guidebook will integrate both archaeological and First Nations interpretations of the artifacts.
Qualifications
Must be a recent post-secondary graduate (past 24 months) with a degree in Museum Studies, Archaeology/Anthropology, Education or another related discipline such as History or Indigenous Studies
experience with museum collections or Plains/Boreal Forest archaeology and/or Indigenous Education
computer literate in word, excel, outlook; experience with digital technologies an asset
energetic, motivated self-directed but capable of working in a team setting
excellent communication and organizational skills
