The Pastoral & Youth Ministry Coordinator is directly responsible to the Pastor.
Key Functions:
The Pastoral & Youth Ministry Coordinator is responsible to assist the Pastor with the organization and/or implementation of programs and services; and in conjunction with various volunteers and members of the parish, assists the Pastor in fostering and building a faith filled community.
Activities/Responsibilities:
Works with the Pastor with spiritual formation opportunities, programs
Promotes programs, events through numerous media tools
Assists the Pastor, in conjunction with volunteers, in planning and organizing liturgical events including opportunities for children and youth participation
Assists leaders of the RCIA/RCIC Program, and Sacramental Preparation processes with logistics
Assists the Pastor with various administrative duties as assigned
Establishes and maintain a positive and collaborative relationship with the entire parish family of faith (children, youth, peers, parishioners of all ages)
Attends Pastoral Council Meetings
Recruits and supports adult, children and youth leaders
Coordinates activities and events involving children, youth
Liaises with the Archdioceses youth coordinator and other parish youth ministers
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Baptized and practicing Catholic actively involved in parish life
Strong leadership skills
Ability to motivate and engage others (volunteers, children, youth, etc.)
Strong organizational skills with attention to details
Strong interpersonal (oral and written) communication skills
Ability to facilitate meetings and group functions
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
