Description

A non-profit organization, CMHA assists & supports people with mental illness to maximize potential & achieve positive mental health. Enhancement of mental health in the community is achieved through programs, services, public education & advocacy. CMHA, a registered charity, facilitates access to resources people require to maintain & improve mental health & community integration, build resilience, & support recovery.

As ED, you report to & lead according to strategic direction set by the Board.You oversee general operations, administration, facilities, staffing, volunteers, development & programing, lead a team of professionals, & manage multiple priorities. A university degree in health sciences, social work, business administration or related discipline is required.

You oversee services & financial affairs & advise the Board in its planning, policy development & priority setting. You ensure employees feel supported & valued. You oversee preparation of funding applications, administration of contracts, & participate at various government & community based non-government organization tables to develop policies, programs & strategies that create & foster mental health. Experienced in financial management, working with board & staff, you develop an operational plan & aligned budget, report monthly on variances & look for ways to increase revenues & maintain expenses while providing meaningful services. You foster relationships among Board, staff & volunteers & have knowledge & capacity to work with a volunteer board within a policy governance model. Strong communication allows you to engage with stakeholders, act as a spokesperson for CMHA & enhance its profile.
You are a respected leader with knowledge of management principles as they relate to non-profit & volunteer organizations. You value collegiality & collaboration & consistently demonstrate high ethical standards & professional integrity.
