Description

Group Home Recreation Programmer
LutherCare Communities

The Organization:
Founded in 1955 as the Lutheran Sunset Home of Saskatoon, LutherCare Communities provides excellence in care, housing, and community services within a nurturing Christian environment.

In Saskatoon, we own and operate group homes that support physically and cognitively challenged adults.

The Position:
As a Group Home Recreation Programmer, you will be responsible to assist residents to and from planned programs.  The successful applicant will organize programs such as recreational events, outings, entertainment, crafts, and other parties.  Responsibilities also include the encouragement and assistance that residents require to participate in such programs.

LutherCare offers a competitive compensation package to all full-time, part-time, and casual employees working greater than 40% of full-time hours.

The Applicants:
Applicants would typically qualify for this position through the completion of post secondary education in a related discipline (ie: Therapeutic Recreational Diploma, Kinesiology degree, etc.) with experience in the planning and implementation of recreational activities for intellectually disabled adults in a residential setting.  Applicants must have the ability to work well under minimal supervision and possess a valid drivers license.  Hours of work are not limited to day shifts as some activities and programs require evening or weekend shifts.  Applicants must be able to plan, implement and coordinate activities, outings and functions for residents and have the ability to operate and train in the use of the wheelchair van. Ability to fluently read, write, speak and understand English is essential.

LutherCare Communities wishes to thank all applicants for their interest in this position. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted. Applicants must provide a criminal background check prior to employment
