Our continued growth and development has created a need for a Machinist in our Saskatoon branch.
The position is full time - 40 hours per week, with possible shift work. We offer competitive wages as well as a comprehensive benefit package after the completion of the probationary period.
Position requirements: Key Responsibilities:
Complete set up sheets; documenting new product requirements for approval
Set up the machines properly and ensure that they are working at full capacity
Determine and then run the appropriate program for each job; make adjustments as needed to ensure quality product.
Load and unload the machines with the required products
Check and measure parts
Change the inserts when required
Operate all equipment, including in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
General clean up of working area to help maintain a safe working environment
Education & Experience: Skills and Abilities
High school diploma or equivalent
Ticketed machine operator or equivalent experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in a heavy metal manufacturing environment
Experience in precision machining with tight tolerances
Experience using an overhead crane an asset
Experience using Fanuc controller an asset
Welding \experience an asset
Knowledge of G codes
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite
Strong mechanical aptitude
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with fluency in English
Strong mathematical skills
Strong problem solving skills
Great attention to detail with the ability to focus on the task at hand
Team oriented thinker
Ability to focus on the task at hand and pay great attention to detail
Ability to read product drawings and measuring tapes
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Proven ability to work in a safe manner and follow safety procedures
