Description

Brandt Developments has a position available for a Lead Mechanical Engineer at the Regina location. Responsibilities include:
    Responsible for the design and approval of mechanical engineering works associated with the construction of new buildings and renovations projects
    Responsible for the design and detailing of mechanical elements for all projects, including plans, technical details and specifications
    Review and investigate preliminary engineering options during the planning and schematic design process
    Preparation of cost estimates, tender contract documents and engineering reports.
    Prepare conceptual and detailed design calculations, layouts, sketches, specifications
    Investigate field and design problems and prepare reports
    Review, evaluate, and improve upon engineering designs, drafting, schematics and specifications
    Perform the heating and cooling load calculations as required
    Prepare Revit/AutoCAD drawings for mechanical systems
    Lead the design team as required through projects
    Perform the design and produce drawings for building mechanical systems
    Coordinate and follow up the project issues
    Perform the contract administration duties on the projects
    Collaborate with other departments to ensure project success
    Project cost monitoring and schedule control as requested
    Perform other related duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate must have experience with Revit/AutoCAD/Civil 3D and preferably 6+ years of work experience in a consulting office. The successful candidate will have a degree in mechanical engineering and shall be licensed to practice in Saskatchewan.. Knowledge of Canadian National Building Code (NBC), plumbing code, gas code, NFPA, and industry practice, regulations, standards and other applicable codes having jurisdiction considered an asset.
